Anant Chaturdashi is not only observed by Hindus, but by Jains as well. It is believed on this day, Lord Vasupujya, the 12th Tirthankara of Jains attained nirvana. The Digambar jains observe the last day of Paryushana Parva on the eve of Anant Chaturdashi. Digambar Jains observe strict fast on this day. The next day of Anant Chaturdashi, Jains observe "Kshamavani", the day to ask for forgiveness.
