Even the support that he received from Sheshnag was no longer available in the same way. The curse created a difficult situation for Lord Vishnu.
Realizing the seriousness of the curse, Lord Vishnu respectfully bowed before Sage Durvasa and asked for a remedy. He requested the sage to tell him how he could be freed from the effects of the curse.
Seeing Lord Vishnu's humility, Sage Durvasa revealed the solution. He advised Lord Vishnu to observe the Uma Maheshwar Vrat with devotion and proper faith. The sage explained that the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati obtained through this vrat would remove the effects of the curse.
Following the sage's instructions, Lord Vishnu observed the Uma Maheshwar Vrat with full devotion. He worshipped Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati according to the prescribed rituals and sincerely prayed for their blessings.
Pleased with his devotion, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati bestowed their grace upon him. Through the power of the Uma Maheshwar Vrat, the curse was removed. Goddess Lakshmi returned to Lord Vishnu, and all the divine powers, prosperity, and glory that had been lost were restored.
From that time onward, the Uma Maheshwar Vrat came to be regarded as a highly auspicious observance. It is believed that devotees who observe this vrat with faith receive the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and find relief from difficulties in life.
